-leaf veiner
-white, pink, purple, and yellow fondant

-Take a 1" ball of fondant and flatten slightly with fondant smoother.

-Form into triangle shape with index finger and thumb.
-Pinch all edges to form it into a cake slice shape.

-Take pink fondant and roll out into a thin rope.
-zig zag rope back and forth bunching as you go, making it about 1/4" wide and then cut in half.

-Attatch half to top edge with a little water.
-Do the same for the bottom border.

-Take another piece of pink fondant and roll out into a thin rope.
-Flatten with fondant smoother.
-Attatch along front middle with water.

-For candle, roll out purple fondant into thin rope and twist it on to itself leaving a small point at the end.

-Take small amount of yellow and form into candle flame.
-Attatch to candle with water.
-Using leaf veiner, poke hole in cake for candle.
-Attatch candle with small amount of water.

  3. Hi, Can I say I love your site. I also think it's great that you're sharing your knowledge. I'm self taught and live in a town where there are no teaching facilities for cake decorating/sugarcraft. Great work, keep it up. I'm totally addicted. Can't wait for the next installment. Leoni.

  9. Hi Julie, can these toppers be reused? I'm new to decorating and wasn't sure if these are to be eaten or just decoration. Thanks!

  10. Thank you so much everyone for all of your wonderful comments! To answer a few of your questions:
Scarlett- Not for a while, but they are on the list :)
Happy cake- I'm so glad I can help, even if it's just in a small way.
Michel-lee- Thanks ;) hehe, i'll get to that as soon as I can.
Relznik - I've had quite a few requests for it so i'm going to do a post on it soon :)
Cagwin- No they aren't meant to be reused and as long as the person recieving the cupcake likes fondant they are most certainly meant for eating.

  12. First just want to say I luv your blog! And was so excited to make these. So I gave it a whirl last nite but it was more difficult that I thought. I think my fondant needs to be alot harder (maybe more PS). But they came okay. Look forward to trying the watering can & the flower pot :) Keep up the great Toppers!!
