Wallace and Gromit Cake

Wallace and Gromit Cake

I made this cake for my husband Toby for his birthday. Wallace and Gromit and the curse of the were-rabbit is one of our family's favorite movies mainly because of the claymation, and who doesn't love wallace and gromit :D.

The figures are sculpted out of fondant with gum paste powder added and they are molded onto 1/4" dowel rods so they could be stuck in the cake. The grass is buttercream piped onto the board with the grass tip after I placed the cake on the board. The road is made out of grey fondant.

This cake was a complete surprise to him and he just loved it! I was really quite happy with how the figures turned out. Next time though, I need to think of a better support for them, because they started to make the sides of the cake sag after a little while.

So here's to the greatest hubby in the world! Happy Birthday Sweetheart!
